GUSTAV MAHLER
The music of Gustav Mahler, the inspired conductor and composer, has been attracting listeners all over the world by a perfect capturing of the discrepancies of the modern world with all its contrasts, by the rendering of the creative force of human mind as well as the catastrophes caused by it, by picturing the grandeur of nature, endless human malice as well as rare humanity with humour and irony, with evil sarcasm and kind smile. Mahler´s considerable music talents, which he employed both as composer and conductor, were surpassed only by his ambition. He developed his own characteristic style and broke away from the conventions.
This year music lovers all over the world celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the genius of the fin de siècle. In honor of Gustav Mahler, Vienna offers unique exhibitions, concerts and walks along the most important sites of his life in Vienna.

The open galleries of the Winter Riding School invite guests to stroll around, enjoy themselves and above all to see and be seen - a major part of the fun! Dance under the stars in the Stallburg or take a walk in the Summer Riding School where a variety of bars offer refreshing drinks.

SACHER AND THE LIPIZZANER
The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is a synonym for classical equitation of the haute école. Founded in 1572, the Spanish Riding School is the oldest institution in which the haute école of classical equitation has been practiced from the Renaissance to present.
You can watch the riders and their "athletes" while doing their morning exercise on "their stage", the most imposing riding hall of the world, and you are allowed to venture a glance behind the scenes.
